She graduated from the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris in 1989 and holds a Ph.D. in Political Sciences from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She sits on the steering committee of the European Union Studies Association.

She is the author of numerous articles on France, Europe and globalisation, and has co-written the book The French Challenge: Adapting to Globalization, 2002 winner of the France-Amériques Prize.
