Time : 8 June 2007 – 8.30-10.00
Presentation : Following the negative result of the French European Constitution referendum of 29 May 2005, Notre Europe published a study on the role of one key actor in the public space, the media. News organisations were heavily criticised for taking a pro-Constitution line - an allegation which, although in general true, did not stop the rejection of the Constitution. Jacques Gerstlé, a recognised specialist on the role of the media, analyses the question covered in his study, "L'impact des médias télévisés sur la campagne référendaire française de 2005".
