    • In view of ensuring more coherence between the EU Funds, the European Commission launched a proposal for a Common Strategic Framework in order to maximize the use of the Structural Funds, the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF).

    The aim of the conference is to contribute to the debate on the dynamic coordination between the objectives of the Common Agricultural Policy and Cohesion Policy with a special focus on the impact of the new Strategic Framework on rural development.

    The Common Strategic Framework recently tabled by the European Commission aims to foster the coordination of five Community funds that will cover 42% of the budget 2014-2020. This Policy Paper analyses its architecture, the added value and uncertainties it entails for the EU rural development policy.
