Notre Europe has convened a high-level task force to reflect on the future of EU/US relations, in the age of globalization. The task force is composed of high-ranking former European statesmen and ministers and convened for the first time on 19 June 2009 in Paris. The objective of the high level task force is to define a new charter for EU/US relations that will facilitate a common response to current global challenges. The task force is assisted by Notre Europe’s research team.

The members of the high level task force are:

  • Romano Prodi (co-chair), former President of the European Commission and former Prime Minister of Italy
  • Guy Verhofstadt (co-chair), former Prime Minister of BelgiumJerzy Buzek, former Prime Minister of Poland
  • Étienne Davignon, former Vice-President of the European Commission
  • Jacques Delors, former President of the European Commission
  • Joschka Fischer, former German foreign minister
  • Paavo Lipponen, former Prime Minister of Finland

Nicole Gnesotto,  Vice-President of Notre Europe, is the rapporteur of the high level task force, hosted by Tommaso Padoa Schioppa, Président of Notre Europe.   

The high-level task force will convene once more in the fall 2009, with the aim of delivering its final report and propositions before the end of the year.




Project leader
Sami Andoura completed his degree in Law at Paris II Panthéon-Assas University (France) in 2003. In 2004 he specialised in a LLM (DESS) in European Business Law at Paris II Panthéon-Assas University and in a LLM (DEA) in International Economic Law at Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University. Areas of research: European Energy Policy (internal and external) and with the external relations of the European Union.
Team
Timo holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in International Relations and International Economics from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of the Johns Hopkins University in Washington DC and a BA in Political Science from the University of London. Areas of research: World Governance, comparative regional integration.
