The third Europe Forum

The third Europe Forum hold in Strasbourg on April 10th 2010. The European civilian society's meeting. In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Schuman DeclarationA Franco-German Edition "Europe's heritage, what responsibilities?"

The Second Europe Forum

The first Europe Forum(EF) were held in Lille last year. Following the success of the event, EuropaNova, the Mouvement Européen France and Notre Europe are organising, the second edition of the EF on 21st June 2008 in Lyon, with the active support of the European Parliament and the European Commission.

The second edition takes place in a period that is particularly favourable to debates on key European issues:

  • The EF will mark the unofficial start of the French Presidency starting on 1 July and demonstrate civil society's active involvement;
  • The EF will also mark the 50th anniversary of the European Parliament, and
  • the beginning of the electoral campaign for the European Parliament elections in June 2009.
Over a single day, the EF will include two types of activities:
  • A large conference formed by two plenary meetings and 18 workshops (three sessions of at least five workshops each, organised simultaneously) designed to ensure lively debates as well as a balance between sex and age groups, political orientations and nationalities (at least one non French speaker per workshop).
  • More entertaining activities such as a literary café, an associative village, a simulation of a parliamentary debate co-organised with the European Youth Parliament, a football match, games for children etc.

In the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, the 3rd Europe Forum (Strasbourg 2010) raised the issue of our responsibility towards European heritage. This giant agora co-organised by a hundred of stakeholders chose Germany as the honored guest country. This document is addressed to European and national decision-makers and presents a summary of these debates’ key propositions in which more than 2000 citizens, a hundred of political actors, unions and associations representatives, intellectuals and cultural actors were involved.

Following the success of the Europe Forum in Lille, the second Europe Forum took place on 21 June 2008 in Lyons. This massive public forum, offered 20 discussion arenas and activities (Village of associations, European Youth Parliament, literary café, performances and games for children, exhibitions and concert) to debate the gains and perspectives of European citizenship.
