This Tuesday 27 November, Gaëtane Ricard-Nihoul of Notre Europe will moderate a discussion during a meeting of EPIN, the network of European think tanks of which Notre Europe is a member. The theme will be 'Politicisation of the EU - What Perspectives?". We take this opportunity therefore to remind you of the policy paper by Stefano Bartolini and Simon Hix published by Notre Europe last year: 'Politics: the Right or the Wrong Sort of Medicine for the EU?". It represents a concise, accessible and well-informed evaluation of the subject. According to Simon Hix, "More Left-Right politics at the European level is not only inevitable but is also healthy, as it will allow the EU to overcome institutional gridlock, will encourage policy innovation, will produce a mandate for reform, and so will increase the legitimacy of the EU."
