The Declaration:
At the end of the debates, a statement was adopted by all participants. This year, this declaration entitled «The rigor, but also the growth " paid also tribute to Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, former president of Notre Europe who died on December 18th, 2010.
The publications in the press :
The statement of the European Committee of Orientation was proposed in numerous titles of press in Europe. It was published during the followingweek in: Publico (Portugal), Handesblatt (Germany) , Le Figaro (France), Le Temps (Switzerland) The Independent ( The United Kingdom), The Repubblica (Italy), New Europe (Greece), Phileftheros (Cyprus).
The European Steering Committee of
Notre Europe
The European Steering Committee of Notre Europe ( CEO) meets annually
around various high-level European personalities aiming to emit tracks of reflection for the future of
the construction of the Union and
forNotre Europe's working program.
On Friday, November 18th, 2011, the annual diner-debate of the CEO took place, at the
automobile Club, in Paris. The guest of honor of this evening was Pascal Lamy,
Chief Executive Officer of the WTO (WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION) and also Honorary
President of Notre Europe. He pronounced an entitled speech: " The economy
and the world - Where is it? Where does it go? Where does Europe stand in front of this transformation?
" which left place afterward
for a series of interventions.
On Saturday, November 19th, 2010, the European Committee of orientation
of Notre Europe met at the Maison des Polytechniciens in Paris. This
meeting, traditionally chaired by Jacques Delors, Former president of the
European Commission and founding President of the think tank Notre Europe, took
place under the Presidence of Antonio Vitorino, current President of Notre Europe,
former European Commissioner and former Portuguese Minister, as well as more than
forty participants.
