In 2009 and this first half of 2010 the European Union has been put to a harsh test. The international economic and financial crisis hit the euro zone by way of Greece, and it seemed obvious that the European Union - though not iself responsible - might become the main victim of the crisis. This paradox is a result of the Union's uncertain status; 60 years after ist founding act, th EU is still hovering between disunion and union. In normal conditions such as the current one. The EU is destined eigher to regress towards disintegration, or to advance towards proper union.
Notre Europe's mission is to "think a united Europe". Its challenge is to place its activites into this historical context, and to re-imagine the EU's policies -often scattered in nature, without ambition or means- as part of a genuine strategy for the European economy...
