While the heads of state and government of the Eurozone have met in Brussels on Thursday, July 21st, Notre Europe contributes to the current discussions by publishing:



  • an article published in Le Monde of Friday, July 15th, 2011 signed jointly by Jacques Delors, Antonio Vitorino and other European personalities,
  • an interview given by Antonio Vitorino to the Portuguese newspaper " Publico ".

António Vitorino
Portuguese politician, former Defence Minister and former European Commissioner. A lawyer by profession, he has taught at the University of Lisbon since 1982. Since 2005 he has been president of the general assembly of the Santander Totta bank and an associate at the law firm Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira & Associados.
Jacques Delors
Jacques Delors was president of the European Commission from 1985 to 1995. He had previously been minister of finance in France. In October 1996, Jacques Delors founded the research institute Notre Europe and is today its founding president. In May 2000 he was appointed president of the CERC (Conseil de l'emploi, des revenus et de la cohésion sociale) until July 2009.
