In Honour of Notre Europe’s former President, Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, died on 18 December 2010, Notre Europe create the Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa Working Group on the reform of the EMU governance. Under the patronage of Jacques Delors and Helmut Schmidt, this group is composed of high level experts sharing Padoa-Schioppa’s commitment to the single currency.

The first meeting of the group hold on the 20th December 2011, in the room “Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa” at Promontory Europe Office in Paris.

Created by Notre Europe to honor its former President, who died on the 18th December 2010, the “Padoa-Schioppa group” will hold its first meeting on the 20th December 2011 in Paris. It will be composed of European high level experts and will take place under the patronage of Jacques Delors.

To pay tribute to Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, Notre Europe and the Egmont Institute joined together to organise a seminar on “The Euro, the investors and the governance”. The seminar had three objectives: to conduct an assessment of the Economic and Monetary Union; to present and debate investors’ expectations vis-à-vis the common currency; and to present ideas to strengthen the European economic governance. This publication collects the speakers’ interventions in the seminar, which was held in Brussels on 4 April 2011. An extract of this publication including the introduction by Jacques Delors is also available.
