Notre Europe's viewpoint

Notre Europe’s Committee has gathered on Friday 6th of and Saturday 7th of November in Paris, at the Maison de la Mutualité and the Collège des Bernardins in Paris. The meeting, chaired by Jacques Delors, former President of the European Commission and founding President of Notre Europe think thank, has taken place in the presence of Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, current President of the association as well as Pascal Lamy, President of honor.
Notre Europe’s Committee gathers every year around various high ranking personalities with the aim to put forward ideas on the future of the European project. This year, the debate has focused on the following topics: the means to preserve the community method in tackling the crisis and in the implementation of the Lisbon Treaty ; the political and legal feasibility of a proper European Energy Community ; the celebration of the 20th birthday of the fall of the Berlin wall, and the relations between the European Union and the United-States.
At the end of the debate, on Saturday 7th of November 5 pm, a common declaration called « The European Union after Lisbon: a three part counterpoint » has been approved by all participants. This last shows the opinion of Notre Europe’s Committee on the current state of the European Union.
